The audience greeted the marvelous trio of actresses: Alina Vimbai Strähler, Veronika Bachfischer and Jule Böwe with huge applause. They told us a story of threatening ecological disasters and power structures in today's academic world.
Joining the actresses on stage were three girls from Serbia who generated electricity on bicycles, since the performance is eco-aware when it comes to its production, too: the troupe arrived in Belgrade by bus and train, and sets, props, and costumes were borrowed from other shows.
After the performance, the side programme Meeting the Authors commenced in the Museum of National Theatre, moderated by Tijana Grumić.
The 56th Bitef grand opening will be held on Sunday, September 25th, in Yugoslav Drama Theatre with a dance performance, any attempt will end in crushed bodies and broken bones, by choreographer Jan Martens, performed by GRIP and Dance On ensembles from Antwerp. It is already sold out.
Earlier yesterday, the festival's art director Ivan Medenica and main program producer Ksenija Đurović met with the international jury at City Garden restaurant: Stefanie Carp, Christine Dössel, Selma Spahić, and Vanja Ejdus. In selecting the main awards they will be joined by Dino Pešut.
