Grand Prix "Mira Trailović" for the best performance as a whole
The first Grand Prix goes to a courageous, passionate, and unique exploration of the basic questions of theatre in our present, reaching out to the past and to the future, posed to us with wild energy by four extraordinary thinkers, authors, and performers. We were invited to an exciting and risky journey through self-reflection, conflicts, memories, images, poems, and myths, taking us to different spaces and formats of theatre, ending in a celebration of togetherness and of our own human imperfection.
Congratulations to SOLO by Nina Rajić Kranjac, Nataša Keser, Benjamin Krnetić, Marko Mandić, and the rest of the artistic team.
The second Grand Prix goes to the artistically, masterfully crafted explosion of freedom and rebellion. This performance combines a variety of theatrical and dance languages, creating a complex and multi-layered dramaturgy that is political and poetic at the same time. It engages us in a triumphant protest in which each individual uses their own space in compassion for others.
Congratulations to ANY ATTEMPT WILL END IN CRUSHED BODIES AND SHATTERED BONES by Jan Martens, Grip, and Dance On Ensemble, and the whole artistic team.
The Special Award “Jovan Ćirilov” for exceptional contribution to theater art goes to the performance which takes us to an unseen dimension of minimalistic naturalism. The performance walks along the fine line between reality and fiction, between being and acting. Meticulously directed, acted, designed, and written, the story opens us up to empathy for a part of the human condition often overlooked and ignored. It is a painful experience without relief.
Congratulations to LOVE by Alexander Zeldin and the fabulous ensemble and artistic team.
Politika Prize
Daily newspapers Politika gave its award to ANY ATTEMPT WILL END IN CRUSHED BODIES AND SHATTERED BONES by Jan Martens.
“The dance performance choreographed by Jan Martens bursts with sensitivity and aesthetics, it is mesmerizing and imaginative. It is characterized by a fierce struggle between limitations and liberation, between constraint and freedom. It is a choreography of vehemence led by energetic and compelling music by the contemporary Polish composer Henryk Mikołaj Górecki. Particularly powerful in the performance are the dance-dramatic scenes, when the dancers silently, decisively, and repetitively keep pacing about, trying to follow the meaning of poignant poetic words that reflect the struggle of the contemporary world", said Politika's jury in a statement.
